Shipping policy

We ship worldwide, to every country not under sanctions. Orders ship in 1–3 business days, and we email you tracking once yours is on its way. We do not use USPS.

Within the United States we ship with UPS, and you choose the service at checkout: Ground, 2nd Day Air or Next Day Air. An order for 2nd Day Air or Next Day Air placed by 2 pm Mountain Time on a business day ships that day.

International orders ship with DHL. We do not guarantee delivery times for UPS Ground or for international orders; both usually arrive in 2–4 business days, once an international order has cleared customs.

We charge taxes and fees required by the State of Colorado. We do not collect VAT or other import charges.

If you are outside the United States, your order will very likely be charged import VAT, customs duty, and a carrier handling fee when it arrives. You pay those, not us, and they are not included in the price you see at checkout. How much depends on your country. A rough guide: in most of the EU and the UK, expect import VAT at your national rate on the value of the goods plus shipping, plus a carrier fee for collecting it.

So that nobody meets those charges at the door by surprise, we hold an international order once it is paid and email you to confirm you understand them. Your order ships once you confirm. If you decline, or we have not heard from you 48 hours after that email — we send a reminder after 24 — we cancel the order and refund it in full. If your order was cancelled this way, place it again and confirm the email when it arrives; check your spam folder if you do not see it.

If the carrier cannot collect those charges the parcel is returned to us, and we refund the order less the shipping we paid in both directions.

Our software is free. If import charges make the hardware a bad deal for you, you can download StartOS and run it on your own machine at no cost. Buying hardware from us gets you a warranty, a year of Premium Support, and it funds the free software, but it is not the only way to run it.
